Before starting, wash the surfaces to be treated with SONAX Gloss Shampoo (Art. No. 03143000) and mask off the edges of the bonnet, wings, radiator grille and bumpers. Extremely weathered headlights or those with deep scratches, cracks and stone chipping possibly cannot be restored. 1) Smoothing: Affix the slightly coarser round sanding pads 3000 to the enclosed grey pad holder, moisten with water, and sand the headlight by exerting slight pressure until the surface has become even and slightly matt. In doing so, moisten the surface with water time and again. Afterwards, wipe off any abrasive residue with one of the enclosed polishing cloths. Then, repeat the procedure with the ultra-fine 5000 sanding pads (red adhesive side). This step may not be necessary when treating rear lights. Do not try to remove deep scratches with coarse sandpaper beforehand. This completely removes the protective clear coat from the headlamps, resulting in extremely rapid recurrence of matting and scratching. 2) Polishing: Apply SONAX Headlight Polish onto the white side of the enclosed polishing sponge and polish the headlight surface by exerting medium pressure until the matt surface has vanished. If necessary, keep adding polish. To check and at the end of the polishing process, wipe off the polish residues with a polishing fleece. 3) Sealing: Tear open a sachet of Headlight Sealant and apply the liquid to the polishing fleece. Rub over the already burnished and polished surfaces with the moist cloth. After a short drying time, wipe surface again with a clean, dry polishing cloth. One sachet is enough for 2 headlamps. The sealant should not get wet within the next 2 to 3 hours. Do not wash the vehicle within the first 2 days after treatment.
